Question: What is the best car for a first-time driver?

Doesn't have to be fancy or anything, because after all its a first car, and your still young, and bound to get into an accident or something.

Get a bigger car nothing smaller that a Honda Accord. Buick Century or a Ford Crown Vic. Gas is only a fraction of car ownership. Small cars like Civics etc. do not hold up well in a crash as they are low slung and will slide under an SUV.

Ehh, can't really think of anything else at the moment. But I know these probably won't do any good, well some will and some are out of mind, and some insurance is gonna be a bit high. But whatever floats your boat trickk (:
