Why do atheist's care to get so involved in religion?

I'm an atheist and when I see that the atheist group or whatever have gotten rid of crosses representing deceased troopers, I can't understand why. As an atheist I don't care if there are crosses, or in god we trust on our money. I don't believe in god but i'm glad some people do because the bible teaches good ethical practices. And if you can't just be a good person because it's the right thing to do, and a bible helps you, good for you. But I don't want to push my non-belief on people or stop other people from having their beliefs. This is why people think were arrogant a holes.
Wow, first time posting, didn't expect atheists to be crappy towards me. I do agree that if it directly interferes with our constitution there are reasons to speak out. But some things are just stupid. And being an atheist means you don't believe in a god or gods. Not that you have to fight the theists.

hey the question that I'm putting up is a very very serious question

so i have a brother that is really a bad person .
He is the most disgraced person alive in my opinion

One day i was reading a text book a really heavy text book. i was so happy my bro got a diploma and so was he. So then my sis was taking a look at his diploma and she was saying good job to him for doing a such good job (the diploma he got was because he did his g.e.d) then he put his diploma where i was sitting ,then i decided to take a look at it (that was a big mistake) while I was looking at it i made a comment saying "wow you got high grades” while i was saying that he screamed soooooo loudly saying "WHAT THE FUCK LEAVE IT ALONE BITCH" and he grabed it from me then I said why wont you shut the fuck up I was just looking at it ,then he came and punched me in the arm so hard like he was hitting his enemy so as i said before i was reading a text book and i threw it at him and the part it hit him was in the leg ,then he came running kicked me in the head sooooooooo hard that no one can believe..He was wearing Jordan’s . that gave me biggest headache and my head was swelling had a big bump and it hurt.

well everyday he always has a drama in the house he rapidly trys hitting my dad and my dad gives him money so he can leave which gives so much peace that i can ever have.

what can i ever do to him im only 15 years old and im a girl and he is 19 years old and hes a fucking abuser .i wish he can die end up in jail and never come out thats how much i hate him well he hits every body in the house my dad is disable he has lung porblems he cant do much my dad calls the police many times more then 8 as i counted.i think its the most horrible thing ever.he always need money for weed my family is not rich we don’t have even one dollar to waste and if my dad doesn’t give money to him because as I said my dad doesn’t have that much money he searches the whole house and breaks things shows his anger and my dad gets so angry and if my dad says to stop he comes up to his face saying do something ..i bet your saying what a disgraced bitch well that’s what I think of him.

I want to move in with my aunt because my dad and I hate each other?

So recently I found out I had head lice. I texted a few friends at school and told them I was checking out because of lice. I thought I got it from a friends house and thatrs what i told one if them. My dad picks me up from school and immidiatlystarts to act like it was all my fault that I got lice. Anyway he later that day saw me brushing my hair over the carpet and called me a bunch of vulgar names because he THINKS lice can survive in the carpet and over run the house. The next day the friend that I told that I thought I got them from a friends house tells that friend who tells his parents I said I got them from his house which I didnt say. His parents who run the motorcycle club my dad its in get offended and tells my dad that I was running around telling everyone I got lice from their house when I didnt even mention their names. My dad comes home kicks my door in, grabs me by the hair picks me up slaps me in the face and drops me on the floor. yells at me, tells me he hates me and wants to kick my head in throws a stool at me, hits me in the leg and leaves my room after yelling at me and throwing my fan across the room. I cant take it anymore. I overhear him telling my mom he hates me and wants me to leave. Im 16 and would like to move in with my aunt and uncle who live a few cities away from me but I dont have a job or money and dont know what to do. Im starting to have suicidal thoughts please help. :'(
What I'm really asking is is there a certain legal procedure I need to go through to live with my aunt. I kind of would feel bad about leaving my mom with him because they aren't really married and they fight a lit and idk what would happen to her if they split up and im not there.

Ok so im 18 and i have a 1 year old daughter who i love very much. I have a new bf and dont really talk to my daughters father much but he still sees her. Anyway ive been with my current bf for 3 months and were thinking of having a baby next year when he gets his new job. We have enough money and a three bedroom house so im not worried about that but is it to soon to be thinking of another baby? My bf and I love each other heaps anyone can see that and he is so great with my daughter im just thinking would it be bad? by that time ill be 19 and maybe even 20 by the time the baby comes its not to soon is it? and im not to young am i?
I know we have only been together for 3 months i didnt mean right now ofcorse i meant next year sometime after my 19th birthday which would mean we would have been together for a little over a year thats when i was asking is a little over a year to soon? My ex and I had a deal. I told him if he brought be $20 a week to take care of our son, then I wouldn't order child support (which would probably be way more), and he said he's not going to be able to give it to me this week. Its not like its a lot of money, and I'm sure he has plenty of money for his drug deals. Should I just order child support now, so I won't have to worry about whether or not I'll get money every week?
He's bringing it now, but only because I threatened to get real child support. :/ This sucks. Now he's being a jerk. I guess I'm just going to do it anyways. Then, at least, I won't have to deal with him being mean to me every time I ask for a little money.

i don't think a nation could become more deluded. But then again i've only seen one nation like this in my life. Personally i think it's because of the religion of money, which is so prominent in the nation, leading people to sin more and more so that sin abounds and gets worse, leading it to be declared 'normalacy'. Poor nation, such bad things in store if it doesn't turn back to God :/

Should I get an 8gb or 32gb iPod Touch?

I've been looking forward to getting one of the new ones for a while but I'm not sure now whether to get the smaller or larger one. I understand that the bigger one is better value but I'm a bit money conscious. However, before you state your opinion take into account that I want:
About 500 songs
Several TV shows and three or four movies
And lots of pictures, maybe 3 or 400.
Take into account that this is what the iPod would start with, so heaps more is going to be added.
I also want to surf the net, not sure if the more that's on the iPod the slower the iPod goes?
Also, does anyone have anything to say about the latest iPod Touch (4th Gen)? Goods, bads etc would be great.

My dad is cheap and my mom hates it?

It's going to be hard for me to keep this short, but I'll try my best! D:

My dad is cheap. Hates spending money. I have a mom and a dad (obviously from the title) and two brothers a few years younger than me. I'm 19 and in college. As a family, we have plenty of money. More than enough. However, not much of it gets spend. Our home is bought and not rented. We have 3 cars that are bought and not rented.

Our bathroom has been sitting unused and empty for over 2 years. It developed mould over time and obviously, a mouldy bathroom isn't a healthy thing. My dad did plan on fixing it himself (to avoid paying a company to do it), but it was too much for him and it's been sitting unused as I said. This among other unfixed problems our older house has is driving my mom crazy!

There's 3 general accounts of money in my family. Mine, my mom's (she recently got money from my granny when she sold her house) and my mom and dad's joint account. My dad doesn't mind spending my mom's money. He frequently takes money out to pay credit card bills and other things. But, he won't touch the joint account. And, my mom doesn't touch it either. My dad has divided it into various sections and each section can only be opened after a certain amount of time. I'm not sure how it works, so hopefully that makes sense. My mom says that he needs to get someone to fix the bathroom. My dad says that she can get someone to do it herself. She says that she's not using the money from her mom because she wants to buy a summer cabin or buy an apartment to invest in. She says she wants to use the joint account money and that's when my dad storms off.

It's getting really annoying. It's such a simple issue as well. We need the bathroom fixed, so get someone to fix the bathroom! It needs to be done eventually! But, my dad won't use his precious money that he's saving for no good reason.

Not only is it just the bathroom situation, but it's everything. He won't go on vacations. If we go, it's my mom and I along with my brothers. It's too much money for him. If he had a choice, we would sit at home, drink beer and watch tv rather than travel or shop or whatever.

I don't know what to do. I'm sick of the arguing and I hate telling my mom that she's right about my dad being cheap and stubborn, but she is! I just need some advice, I guess...

Hi everyone,

Has anyone sent money to Egypt via Western Union or anyone in Egypt received money via Western Union?
If yes, is there any sort of fee the recipient has to pay when collecting/picking up the money from Western Union??

I've called Western Union and got a different answer every-time and I'm left very confused :S
I've had a agent say that Egyptian government will charge a tax on the amount that's sent.
Another agent mentioned that there is no tax on the money being sent.
Another agent mentioned that tax is charged if its greater than a certain amount, but he did not verify "that certain" amount.

Please help.

Additional question: Does the recipient need a western union account in order to receive money? Dumb question, but I really don't know and I want to be-careful since its not a small amount of money that I'll be sending.
