Question #1:

How can my 6th grade daughter get credit for high school math courses?

My daughter is in our county's homeschool program. They let us use whatever curriculum we want so long as we're striving to meet state standards and she doesn't fall too far behind on standardized testing. Since starting the Life of Fred math series she has been completing a book a week. She's just starting sixth grade and finished the first of two books in pre-algebra, so I ordered the second book along with Algebra 1. The way she's going she'll be through Algebra 2, Geometry, Trig, and possibly calculus this year. No joke, this kid is in the zone!

Her school can give her high school credit for algebra through an arrangement with the high school most kids transfer into, but that's it. I don't want her to have to retake math classes later, and in fact she wants to keep going through Life of Fred through linear algebra, a junior-level college math course.

Can she test out of these classes, take placement tests and just have them waive them as prerequisites, take SAT II subject tests, AP tests, or ??? Any accredited and inexpensive homeschool or distance learning programs that might let her receive credit somehow, which could be transferred to her school's transcript? Any ideas from fellow homeschoolers on how to get credit for these classes without having to redo the subject would be much appreciated!
She's not just reading the book. She did all the problems and got 100% on every quiz and the final exam. She is taking several classes for AP credit and has been doing that for a few years now. This year her big project is writing a full-length novel. Asperger's seems to have helped her focus intently on some academic things while leaving her a bit immature in other areas.
I need to document every class because my ex-husband has resurfaced and believes she'd be better off in a special day class at the local school, so the courts want every last accomplishment she has independently verified somehow. I think I'll keep work samples and have her enroll in upper-division math classes at the local university when she gets to that level. We're not sure if she'll continue homeschooling through high school or enroll in the local high school of the arts. I'll check out that book. Thanks!

Question #2:

Where do you rank Ceferino Garcia as one of the greatest Asian boxers ever?

Ceferino Garcia, the 2nd Greatest Asian boxer ever behind Manny, What are your thoughts?
It is almost agreeable by most boxing experts that Pacquaio is the greatest Asian boxer ever (some still believed Galaxy or Villa is better). The debate here is who takes the second greatest Asian boxer ever, is it Pancho Villa, Khaosai Galaxy, or Fighting Harada? Flash Elorde also comes to mind, and Kostya Tszyu (from Siberia in Russia, all of Siberia is in Orient-Asia)

What stands out to me is how much UNDERRATED Ceferino Garcia is. He almost beat Henry Armstrong in Armstrong's prime, as the fight was ruled a DRAW (many people felt he lost by an home ruled American based decision). He fought a close fight with Barney Ross. He has fought Young Corbett III, Gans, Lloyd Marshall, Kid Azteca, and Freddie Steele, and Freddie Apostoli. Of all these boxers mentioned, SIX have been inducted in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Pacquaio has fought a possible of of 5 Hall of Famers, from Marquez, Morales, Cotto, De La Hoya, and Barrera. Hatton is a bit of a question mark. But I believe that NONE of these boxers are better than Henry Armstrong or Barney Ross. And the other 4 Hall of Famers that Garcia fought is competitive to the other fighters Pacquaio fought.

Khaosai Galaxy, Fighting Harada, and Pancho Villa has an excellent resume., but EVEN if you combined all their oppositions, there is no doubt Ceferino Garcia fought the toughest competition!

Garcia has KO'd Apostoli, Gans, Azteca, & Marshall! But how come Garcia doesn't seem to be getting a lot of credit from many boxing experts?

Question #3:

My dad is cheap and my mom hates it?

It's going to be hard for me to keep this short, but I'll try my best! D:

My dad is cheap. Hates spending money. I have a mom and a dad (obviously from the title) and two brothers a few years younger than me. I'm 19 and in college. As a family, we have plenty of money. More than enough. However, not much of it gets spend. Our home is bought and not rented. We have 3 cars that are bought and not rented.

Our bathroom has been sitting unused and empty for over 2 years. It developed mould over time and obviously, a mouldy bathroom isn't a healthy thing. My dad did plan on fixing it himself (to avoid paying a company to do it), but it was too much for him and it's been sitting unused as I said. This among other unfixed problems our older house has is driving my mom crazy!

There's 3 general accounts of money in my family. Mine, my mom's (she recently got money from my granny when she sold her house) and my mom and dad's joint account. My dad doesn't mind spending my mom's money. He frequently takes money out to pay credit card bills and other things. But, he won't touch the joint account. And, my mom doesn't touch it either. My dad has divided it into various sections and each section can only be opened after a certain amount of time. I'm not sure how it works, so hopefully that makes sense. My mom says that he needs to get someone to fix the bathroom. My dad says that she can get someone to do it herself. She says that she's not using the money from her mom because she wants to buy a summer cabin or buy an apartment to invest in. She says she wants to use the joint account money and that's when my dad storms off.

It's getting really annoying. It's such a simple issue as well. We need the bathroom fixed, so get someone to fix the bathroom! It needs to be done eventually! But, my dad won't use his precious money that he's saving for no good reason.

Not only is it just the bathroom situation, but it's everything. He won't go on vacations. If we go, it's my mom and I along with my brothers. It's too much money for him. If he had a choice, we would sit at home, drink beer and watch tv rather than travel or shop or whatever.

I don't know what to do. I'm sick of the arguing and I hate telling my mom that she's right about my dad being cheap and stubborn, but she is! I just need some advice, I guess...

Question #4:

Can I ask for a credit increase?

I got a credit card at $500, in the fresmen year of university. I made purchases and paid my bills for 2 months, then they increased my credit limit to $1000. After 3 months of using that I one day went to pay off my credit card, and the lady told me that i am eligible to increase my credit limit by $1000, making the total $2000. Now its been 6 months, I've been using my credit card for at least 30-40 transactions in a month. And i never went above borrowing $1000 (which is 50%) and I always paid more than $200 each month (sometimes $500 too.) yet they never asked me if i wanted to increase. Should I go ask them? Would i Get one and how much more? And what does your credit score have to me to open a futureshop credit card. and where can i see my credit score?

Question #6:

How do I deal with my friend who is obsessed with her phone and wants me to do the same?

Ok so in the past 2 weeks or so, my friend and I would talk for hours on the phone, and message each other like twice or thrice a day. Now i'm over it..if we talk, I think we should meet up and talk instead of imprisoning ourselves in our room and burning our credit.
So for the past 3-4 days, I haven't been picking up or replying to every single message of hers. But at the end of the day, i'd reply with something like "i was doing something..sorry for the late reply. Whats up?"
She confronted me twice about this and is annoyed at me, thinking that I have something against her. Somehow, she's okay with meeting others up in person, but I don't get why she wants to keep me as a phone buddy. I do have better ways to spend my time.

What can I tell her?

Note: She's not my gf. We don't talk romantically or anything.

Question #7:

how can i get a free ipod touch (legit)?

Question #8:

Should I quit high school band?

I am a flute player and have been playing since fourth grade. I've just started my freshman year of high school and the music programs here are very good. However, the band is not a marching band, it's mainly a concert band only (there are jazz bands and stuff like that, but nothing else really for flutes). I just started private lessons last year in eighth grade, so I'm a bit behind all the other flutes. We have to audition so the band teacher knows how good we are, which I'm nervous for, as I'm not very good. I enjoy playing flute and have a lot of really great friends in band class (I'm proud to be a band geek!) but now we have to play with all four grades. There's no way I can keep up with seniors if I can barely do so with people in my own grade. I also am taking art as my other elective, which means I don't have a free period like everyone else in my school. Art has homework too, so I don't want to be swamped with work from art, practicing from band, sports, and homework from academic classes as well. I also come from a very musical family, so I don't want to let them down. My parents aren't the type to force me to do anything though. They only persuade me. I can get credit for taking flute lessons outside of school even if I quit band and get a free period everyday. I like the flute and playing the final result, but I hate practicing (I'm busy and when I finally have a second at ten at night, the last thing I want to do is pick up my flute!)
There are so many pros and cons here... Please help me!!

Question #11:

I need to pay a debt collecter. How do I pay for it without a job?

My abusive ex boyfriend pretended to be me and created a phone line account for Verizon in my name. I moved out almost 3 years ago and when I moved out I had the phone turned off. I was told by my ex's father that the bill was payed off. Well it wasn't and now I owe the collecter $541.27 and I don't have a job and the only income I have coming in is the money I get from babysitting my sister. I am a student in college. what am I supposed to do? I haven't even started my life with my now bf yet and my credit is already ruined. I NEED HELP!

Question #12:

tax credits question, uk?

ok so this seems like utter madness to me, does this sound right to you?

My partner was made redundant after the credit crunch, he struggled to find work in his trade (a scaffholder) as the building trade has been really effected by the credit crunch. He has decided to go back to college to train as an electrical engineer. It is a full time course. I work more than 16 hours a week and we have two kids under 3. I phoned the tax credits to see if we could get help with childcare costs for the days I work and they have told me I cant because my partner is not working. If I was a single mother I would get help but because my partner lives with me, even though he has no income I am told I cannot get any help. So basically I am expected to support all four of us on my wage which obviously I need to go to work to do, but I cannot afford to pay childcare costs which would be more than my wage. How do they expect me to pay the mortgage and bills and nursay and feed 4 people? I am at a loss, what can we do now?
no familly members are able to help out, my parents live abroad, my partners dad died 2 years ago and his mum has stage 2 cancer. Everyone else works full time
I tried to do the mock test there but there is no option for partner being in full time education, therefore it just says £0 for childcare help because my partner should be watching the kids, but how can he watch them when he is at college all day?!

How do I get a refund/unsubscribe from McAfee Antivirus?

A couple weeks ago I received an email from McAfee telling me that they auto-updated my subscription to their services. They charged my mother's credit card $79.99 for another year of protection.

I've scoured the website for how to get a refund and unsubscribe, but when I tried putting in my order number and password it wouldn't work.

Now, how do I get rid of McAfee and get my money back? I'm switching to another free antivirus protection instead.

If you've had experience with mcafee your input would be greatly appreciated over here. Thanks!

Even tho i've been meaning to pay i've never had extra money to pay it because i am a student and need the money for more important reasons. So i braught the subject up with my friends and they told me once they send it to a debt collector they have 3 years to claim their money or the account gets closed and i dont own them anything. is this true? i asked if it shows up on my credit statement and he said yes but it only shows that the account is closed and not if you paid or not or anything of that sort.. i cant find a good website to research my question so i was wondering if anyone from yahoo would be able to give me an answer.. please site your sources if you have any.. thank you in advance.
